Hurricane Irene

Last week has been an exciting Mother Nature week. We had a 5.9 earthquake last Tuesday and Hurricane Irene blew through during the weekend. Luckily with both, we did not have a lot of damage. The kids were oblivious to both except for the fact that Keira's first day of school was cancelled. The earthquake was felt pretty well. Shaking the car while I was getting gas, reallllly shaking, then realizing my feet were moving. Darin was in Enterprise where most people inside agreed to moving walls and rattling windows.

The kids 9:30 Saturday morning when the rain started. Irene was so large that it was making land fall in N. Carolina, 4 hours away, and starting in DE at the same time!

Luckily no power was lost, no water in the basement. On Sunday, it was crazy windy outside all day and drizzling. Enough wind damage to do this to our front tree and the following picture shows our neighbor's trees.
